On May 23rd, 2023 the Postdoc Network organized a workshop on leadership: What sort of academic leader do you inspire to be? The half-day workshop was organized by certified coach and mentor Isabelle Wartelle who is also the head of Research Grant Support.
This was the first workshop organized at the inspiring location Anna Haen in Abcoude. During the interactive workshop, understanding of leadership and behaviours at work was created. Postdocs learned how to adapt responses to those behaviours to demonstrate effective leadership in their future career. The behavioural classification tool ‘DISC – Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness’ was introduced and practiced with based on case studies from the academic context.
All in all a great day, and hopefully we will be able to organize more leadership courses in the future!
