The Board of the Amsterdam UMC Postdoc Network, in collaboration with the Recess College, warmly invites you and all Amsterdam UMC Postdocs to join us for an interactive and energising workshop. Our goal is to co-create a shared agenda for the Amsterdam UMC Postdoc Network — by Postdocs, for Postdocs — in a fun, engaging, and collaborative way. Together, we will explore how to address the challenges and opportunities Postdocs face, with a focus on leadership development and growth. No preparation is needed – just come as you are, ready to explore and share your experiences and needs as an Amsterdam UMC Postdoc.
We recognise that the interests and challenges Amsterdam UMC Postdocs face are varied. These challenges include, but are not limited to:
Professional Development & Leadership
– How can I identify the skills and experiences necessary to grow and thrive as a leader in my research group and department?
– How can I effectively develop myself and support the development of others, such as PhD candidates?
Work-Life Balance and Wellbeing
– How can I balance my work and personal life in a way that supports both my professional success and personal well-being?
– How do I maintain my motivation, avoid isolation and loneliness, and prevent burnout, especially in a demanding academic environment?
Accountability and Self-Management
– How can I build a sustainable self-accountability system that nurtures my ability to initiate and embrace change?
– How do I manage competing responsibilities while maintaining my focus on research excellence?
Let’s come together to connect, collaborate, and learn, while co-creating a shared agenda for our Amsterdam UMC Postdoc Network. Together, we will identify key areas for improvement, prioritise them, and decide how we want to address them. The outcome of this conversation will also guide the Board of the Postdoc Network in effectively representing you within the broader organisational context of the Amsterdam UMC.
